You ever wanted to record your voice for a song and wanted to know what it sounds like? Well, now you can for rap.
FreeAppADay.com released its Free App of the Day for today, July 17, 2012. This free app is called AutoRap, which is made by Smule, the same designers of the apps Magic Piano (my personal favorite) and Glee Karoake.
AutoRap is a speech device that lets you record your voice into a rap song. It also corrects bad rapping for you in case you stumble somewhere mid-sentence and can't go back to correct it. All you have to do in AutoRap is talk right into the app and then AutoRap changes your speech into a well-spoken rap. You can create your own raps or you can use Premium Songs, like those of Snoop Dogg, Nicki Minaj, or Cee Lo Green, to AutoRap to those songs.
The lyrics flow across the screen as you say them. AutoRap, meanwhile, corrects your flow, bringing your syllables to the rhythmic beat. According to the official posting on the App Store, headphones are recommended when you rap, just like in real life.
Now you can go and share your rap creations with your friends via email, Facebook, or Twitter. Sing them a happy birthday or just tell them about your day, all together in a well-organized and rhythmic beat.
Every week, new beats and songs are added to the catalogue so you'll be having a new rap every week. And like always, headphones are recommended for the maximum enjoyment of AutoRap.
My Recommendation: This is a fun, cool app if you're looking for a way to spice up what you say or to have fun with somebody by sending them a rap message. If you're a music fan and you enjoy rapping, this might be the best app for you. I don't use AutoRap since I'm not a rapper and I'm not entirely interested in rapping to other people or that kind of music. However, I'd recommend it to anyone who wants to have a little fun. Just saying.
That is FreeAppADay.com's free app for the day. Check back tomorrow to see which new app they post as their free app for the day. See you all then!
Note: This app is compatible with both the iPhone and the iPad.

Free App of the Week: Diptic
So here's my first official posting of the Apple Apps Recommendations and I thought I'd start out with an app that I especially like and one that Apple finds particularly sweet as well. Each week, Apple gives away a free iOS app and this week, it is certainly one that might help if you're ever trying to put together some pictures.
Diptic is a photo/video app that might interest all you photographers out there, especially me, since I'm a photographer myself. It is a photo editor app that helps you combine multiple photos and artistic effects to create some stunning photo collages that you can share with friends via e-mail, Facebook, and Twitter. Diptic has 52 customizable layouts that you can pick out from and 14 rounded borders to give your collage that extra feeling of amazing and inspiring.
Some other features of Diptic include a frame slider, which allows you to customize inner frame designs, adjusting border color and width so you decide which color and width works best for you, high resolution export option so you can send it to people or your device in a resolution that's easily readable, and a gallery mode that lets you see what other people are creating on Diptic, and much, much more.
Get started on Diptic today. As the iOS App of the Week, it is free. But after the promotion ends in the next few days, the price will go back to $0.99.
Macworld described it as a "simple, elegant way to use pictures to tell your story." TUAW (The Unofficial Apple Weblog) says its "well-designed interface, simplicity, and thoughtful balance of features make it a delightful app to use." Diptic is featured on the App Store's "New and Noteworthy," "What's Hot," "App of the Week," and "Staff Favorites." It is in the Top 50 in iPhone Paid Apps overall, Top 3 in iPhone Paid Photography Apps, Top 5 in iPad Paid Photography Apps, and Top 100 in iPad Paid Apps Overall!
My Recommendation: Since I'm a big photography-lover, I use this app on a daily basis and have fallen in love with it. I'd recommend getting it right now so you can start your collaging today. But remember, it is free for a limited time, so get it soon. But even if you do pay, it's well worth it, because Diptic is not only a favorite of me, but it's a favorite of photographers everywhere. So why wait? If you're a photographer or just want to try something new, get your copy of Diptic on your iPhone and iPad today.
